On the 18th, Lingard talked about the alleged driving of the kickboard through his social network service (SNS).

"I drove a kickboard for a few minutes yesterday. I was not aware that I needed a license and a helmet in Korea because I was able to ride a kickboard freely in the UK and Europe," he admitted.

He added, "I recommend foreigners visiting Korea to check the regulations. Safety comes first in everything. Everyone should wear a helmet. I will not do that again either."

Lingard is suspected of riding a kickboard in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, around 10:20 p.m. on Saturday. He found out about it by posting a photo of himself driving a kickboard without protective gear on his SNS account.

After confirming this, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that it has launched an investigation (internal investigation) before booking in connection with Lingard's unlicensed and unclaimed driving.
In September last year, before joining Seoul, Lingard was suspended for 18 months for drunk driving and speeding in the U.K. The police plan to check the details including whether Lingard is actually unlicensed. Lingard also conveyed his sincere explanation to the police through his team.

A personal mobile device (PM) called an electric kickboard can only be driven if one has a motorized bicycle license that can be acquired from the age of 16 or older. If one is caught riding it without a license, a fine of 100,000 won will be imposed, and a fine of 20,000 won will be added even without wearing a safety helmet.

However, as shared electric kickboards are widely used, many people without licenses use them as expedients.

Meanwhile, Lingard, a former member of the Manchester United and England national teams, has been playing in the K-League as a member of Seoul since this year.
